Hello! Iām Mary (she/her), and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) practicing in Durham, NC.
Originally from Clayton, NC, I received my BA in Psychology and Communication Studies and my Master of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to my current role, I worked at the North Carolina School of Science and Math for 6 years, and received training at the Duke Inpatient Behavioral Health unit and as a school social worker.
I primarily with older adolescents and adults who struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as stress, anxiety, and phobias. As a therapist, I aim to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment for clients to explore the complexities of their lives and to feel heard and understood.
Outside of work I enjoy playing soccer, native gardening, rewatching sitcoms, taking photos of our 3 cats, and spending time with friends and family.
I am also the creator of the site How to Make Friends in Durham, a resource dedicated to helping others get connected in Durham!
